It was a violent night of gun play in the GTA Thursday, leading to one fatality.

Four separate shootings, three of them within close proximity of one another in a span of under 3 hours.

Two men were shot at 89 Gosford Boulevard near Shoreham Drive, south of Steeles Avenue.

The shooting occurred at around 8:30 p.m.

According to Insp. Justin Vander Heyden, one of the two victims was critically injured and eventually pronounced dead.

"Deceased appears to be in his late 50's. He has not been identified as of yet."

The other victim, believed to be in his 20's, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Vander Heyden adds police received plenty of tips from residents describing muliple suspects involved in the shooting.

" Four males arrived in a dark coloured sedan, they parked on the road, exited the vehicle and went through the breezeway at 89 Gosford Blvd and that's when the gunfire errupted.  They were seen fleeing the scene and then returning to the vehicle and fleeing the area."

That shooting followed the first in the area just before 6:30 p.m. near Driftwood Avenue and Jane St.

Shots were fired near a plaza and despite several shell casings being found in the plaza and on the street, no injuries were reported.

The third shooting occurred just after 9:15 p.m. at a home in the Driftwood Avenue area and Futura Drive.

One person was injured, but reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A fourth shooting occurred across town in Scarborough.

Police responded to calls of gunshots heard near Lawrence Avenue East and Galloway Road at around 7:30 p.m.

One person, a man believed to be in his 20's,was found with serious life-threatening injuries.
