An update from Peel Police in the last hour about an alleged kidnapping of a woman in Brampton last night.

Police now confirm that it was not a kidnapping.

A witness had reported seeing a female being forced into a black Audi by two men, as she yelled for help, with a red Lexus reportedly following close behind.

In an updated news release, police say their investigation revealed that there was some sort of altercation in a commercial parking lot near Creditview Road and Wanless Drive, between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

A woman reportedly exited a red vehicle and a male exited a black SUV.

Police say there was a physical altercation between the pair, but "no one was forced into another vehicle or kidnapped".

The female allegedly returned to the red vehicle and the male returned to the black SUV at which point both vehicles exited the parking lot.

Police are urging all parties involved in the physical altercation and any witnesses to get in touch with them.

The investigation continues.
