Police Investigating after a woman was stabbed by a stranger in mid-town Toronto

Toronto Police are investigating after a woman was stabbed near Merton Street and Mount Pleasant Road.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene just after 3 o'clock this afternoon.

Police tell NEWSTALK1010 that the victim and the suspect did not know each other.

She was reportedly stabbed with a wine bottle opener.

The suspect is described as a Black male, in his 20's or 30's with a slim build and a mustache.

He was last seen running towards Yonge Street.

The extent of the woman's injuries are unclear at this time.
