Police searching for man in connection with fire that injured two Toronto firefighters

A man wanted in an alleged arson at an abandoned building on Shuter

Toronto Police have released a composite image of a man wanted in an alleged arson, that injured two firefighters.

The fire happened at an abandoned building near Shuter and Jarvis on Saturday.

A fire captain was sent to hospital with critical injuries. He's still in the intensive care unit at St Michael's hospital. The other firefighter suffered a broken leg and is now recovering at home.

Officials have said the two were punching holes in the roof of the building, to vent the smoke, which would have allowed other firefighters in to search for possible victims.

Police are now looking for the man seen leaving the building, as firefighters arrived.

If you have any information or recognize the man in the composite sketch, you're asked to call Toronto Police.
