The world hits a new COVID-19 milestone
The number of COVID-19 cases world wide has now passed 5 million. The number of deaths have climbed above 328,000.
That's according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
There are concerns the spread of the virus is ramping up. On Wednesday, The World Health Organization reported over 106,000 new cases, the highest one-day total since the outbreak began.
Latin American countries have been reporting record daily totals in the past week, including Brazil and Mexico.
Cases are also growing in parts of the Middle East.
