UPDATE: Police charge father of boys found murdered in Brampton

Brampton Children dead

Police say a 52-year-old Brampton, Ont., man has been charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of his two sons.

Peel Regional Police Const. Heather Cannon says Edwin Bastidas is being held for a bail hearing and investigators are not seeking any other suspects.

Police said earlier today the deaths were being treated as homicides but have not released the cause of death.

Cannon says someone in the home called 911 on what was described as a medical call late Wednesday.

The boys, aged nine and 12, were found dead when officers arrived at the Brampton home.

Police say there were no obvious signs of trauma to the children.
