Update: Victim of fatal shooting inside a North York bar identified


Police have identified the victim of a deadly shooting inside a bar in North York early Thursday morning.

It happened just before 1:30 a.m. near Jane and Lawrence. Police say someone walked in and opened fire. 

20 year-old Miganeh Idriss, was found with gunshot wounds just outside the bar. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

Officers located a second man hit by multiple bullets inside the bar. He was rushed to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

Homicide detectives are leading the investigation.

No suspect description has been released, but police are looking for a grey SUV seen leaving the area, at the time of the shooting.

This marks the city's 63rd homicide of the year.

There were a number of other shootings overnight, highlighting the increase in gun crimes in the city.

In one case, police say a man made his own way to hospital after a shooting near Dufferin and Lawrence. They say it happened in a Burger King drive-through. The man is expected to live.

Someone also shot up a home near Jane and Grandravine. No one was hurt.

There were also shots fired near McCowan and Eglinton. Police say no one was hit but they found shell casings.
