WATCH: As many as 20 shots fired at a party at a short-term rental

"I encourage you to watch it with the audio up."

York Regional Police have released surveilance video of a shooting that played out late last week in Vaughan.

It was captured from a camera on the front porch of a home, near Pine Valley and Major Mac. It shows two men getting out of a vehicle and opening fire on someone seen running down the road.

As many as 20 shots were fired, which makes it hard to believe that no one was hurt.

Police say it's part of a new and growing trend, where short-term rentals are used for house parties.

"We continue to see that there are people using short-term rental houses for parties and their guests are bringing handguns and violence into York Region. Those choosing to illegally use guns will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law." says Police Chief Eric Joliffe, in a release.

Over the weekend, Air BnB announced plans in the US to clamp down on these types of parties.

A spokesperson from Air BnB in Canada, has confirmed those measures will be coming north of the border as well. However, they won't have details until a 10-day review period is complete.
