Online Fraud Case Tracked from BC to Windsor

Two Windsor residents face online fraud charges in a case with a connection to British Columbia.

In June, Windsor police received a complaint from an Amhersrburg company that processes online internet sales, that it had been defrauded.

The investigation found that purchases had been made using stolen credit card information from a person in Vancouver — and items purchased were delivered to a home in Windsor.

After getting a warrant, officer searched a home on Capitol St. near Remington Blvd. on Wednesday, September 11, 2019.

According to police, a man was arrested after a foot chase and a woman was arrested without incident in Amherstburg.

36-year-old Michael Allard and 28-year-old Stephanie Fink face charges of fraud, possession of stolen items and unauthorized use of credit card data.
