Tigers Fall to Royals

Trevor Rosenthal picked up first save since August 12, 2017 as the Royals beat the Tigers 5-3 to split a four-game series in Detroit.  

Bubba Starling's two-run double in the eighth proved to be decisive.

Brady Singer, the Royals' 2018 first-round draft pick, allowed two runs over five innings in a no-decision in his second big league start.

Miguel Cabrera blasted two solo shots for Detroit.  Jonathan Schoop also homered in defeat.  Reliever Jose Cisnero took the loss.  
Starter Ivan Nova yielded two runs on eight hits over five-plus innings.

The Tigers host the Cincinnati Reds in the first of a three-game series Friday night at Comerica Park.  
Spencer Turnbull gets the start for Detroit, while the Reds counter with Luis Castillo in the opener.

The Tigers wrap up a nine-game homestand with a two-game set against the St. Louis Cardinals beginning on Monday.
