In this weeks Old School Cooking, Darrian checks out a recipe from 1979 for cheesy fudge.

Old cookbooks sure had a thing for putting stuff into Jello. Today Darrian tries a classic dessert recipe so simple, its hard to even call it food.

This week Darrian digs into a recipe book from 1961 called 7-Up Goes to the Party in order to make a delicious(?) recipe, 7-Up Biscuits.

There are thousands of recipe books that have been made over the centuries full of millions of recipes, but how many of those recipes have stood the test of time? Today Darrian is taking a trip back in time to try out recipe from the 1950's: The Pinto Bean Cake PINTO BEAN CAKE Cream 1 stick of margarine and 1 c. sugar. Drain pinto beans, save juice. 2 c. pinto beans (mashed). Add 1 egg, 1 c. self-rising flour, 1 tsp. soda, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. cloves, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 2 c. raw apples, 1 c. raisins. Mix together. Bake at 350° for 1 hour. This is a loaf cake. Ice with the following. ICING: 1 c. powdered sugar, 1/2 c. margarine, 1 T. milk, 1 T. bean juice, 1 tsp. vanilla. Spread on cake.
