Happy World Teachers Day 2020!
Today, October 5, 2020 is World Teachers Day, a day set aside to celebrate the role of all educators, including teachers, researchers and professors.
This year’s theme, Teaching for a better world: Together in strength and solidarity, is one of perseverance and dedication, building together for today and tomorrow. This year has been one of the most difficult for teachers and education workers, not only in Canada but also around the world. The day provides the occasion to celebrate the teaching profession worldwide, to reflect on our achievements, and to focus on the voices of educators, all of whom are at the heart of efforts to attain the global education target of leaving no one behind.
On World Teachers’ Day, we invite all those in this province to join us in considering and celebrating the central role teachers’ professionalism plays in protecting and enhancing public education in Ontario.
