Collision involving PM's motorcade downtown

news-update

Fredericton Police say a vehicle in Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's motorcade was involved in a collision in downtown Fredericton Thursday morning.

In an e-mail to our newsroom, Fredericton Police spokesperson Alycia Bartlett confirmed a marked RCMP vehicle was involved in a collision with another vehicle around 11:45 a.m. at the corner of King Street and Regent Street.

Police say the RCMP vehicle was following the motorcade for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The Prime Minister was in Fredericton to make a multi-million dollar announcement on funding for future flood prevention.

Bartlett added both parties were able to drive their vehicles and there were no injuries.

Fredericton Police say the scene was cleared quickly and no tickets have been issued at this time.
