Designs revealed for new courthouse in Fredericton
Exterior designs for the new courthouse in Fredericton were revealed on Tuesday.
The province says the new building on King Street, between Regent and Carleton Streets is expected to be completed by 2025 at a price tag of around $60 million.
The building will include a detention area, 10 court rooms to provide for the provincial courts, the Court of Queen's Bench and the Court of Appeal, two hearing rooms, accommodations for judges and spaces for services associated with the courts, including legal aid and victim services.
Government says it will be outfitted with an extensive audio-visual system for remote operations, a secure file storage system and extensive security measures.
Construction will be completed through a multi-phased tender process, with work set to begin later this year.
