NBCC introduces 'Red Seal' hood to celebrate trades excellence

(Submitted/NBCC)

New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) has designed a unique hood to celebrate members of its academic leadership who have achieved Read Seal certification.

Hoods traditionally worn at post-secondary graduations have bee reserved only for those who have received advanced degrees.

The College says the new hood recognizes the thousands of hours of work, training, mastery and formally assessed skills and competencies that are required for the Red Seal designation.

The Red Seal certification is recognized by each province and the federal government as the gold standard of skilled trades expertise.

NBCC's graduation celebrations will consist of a combination of small, in-person ceremonies held between June 21st and 25th by program, and a video livestream on June 25th.
