Thirty-five new COVID-19 cases reported in New Brunswick Tuesday


Thirty-five new cases of COVID-19 were reported in New Brunswick on Tuesday.

Officials say 16 of the cases are in Zone 1 (Moncton Region), two are in Zone 2 (Saint John Region), three are in Zone 3 (Fredericton Region), two are in Zone 4 (Edmundston Region), nine are in Zone 5 (Campbellton Region), one is in Zone 6 (Bathurst Region), and two are in Zone 7 (Miramichi Region).

Twenty-four are close contacts of previous cases and 11 are being investigated.

Government says 30 of Tuesday's new cases involve people who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

New Brunswick has 244 active COVID-19 infections, with 11 hospitalizations, including eight people in ICU.

As of Tuesday, 85.6% of eligible New Brunswickers have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 77% are fully vaccinated.
