Two-dose vaccination rate tops 60% in N.B. Wednesday
Public Health says more than 60% of eligible New Brunswickers are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Officials said Wednesday that 60.7% of people aged 12 and older have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 80.8% have received their first dose.
Government is encouraging those who have yet to be vaccinated to book an appointment for their first or second dose through a participating pharmacy or at a Vitalité or Horizon health network clinic.
All New Brunswickers are eligible for their second dose 28 days after they receive their first.
New Brunswick, the Chamber of Commerce and Health Canada have launched a program to distribute free self-screening rapid testing kits to small- and medium-sized businesses and organizations throughout the province.
There are seven active cases of COVID-19 in New Brunswick after no new cases or recoveries were reported Wednesday.
None of the active cases are in hospital.
New Brunswick is in Phase 2 on the path to Green and all health zones remain in the Yellow Level under the province's mandatory order.
