Impaired driving charges laid after two-vehicle collision in Admaston-Bromley Twp.

A Whitewater Region resident is facing Criminal Code (CC) driving charges after members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a collision in Admaston-Bromley Township.
OPP says on September 22nd, 2023, at approximately 5:10 p.m. officers were called to a two-vehicle collision on McGuinty Road after a pickup truck collided with a passenger car. The pickup truck rolled after colliding with the passenger car and both vehicles sustained extensive damage.
The drivers were the lone occupants of each vehicle and neither driver was injured. As part of the investigation, a Roadside Screening Device was utilized, and the driver of the pickup truck was transported to the detachment for further testing.
As a result of this incident and the investigation, the person behind the wheel, 28-year-old Cody Murphy was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on October 31st, 2023. OPP says the accused also had their driver's licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days.
