OPP report no suspicious activity after investigating reported firearm at a school in Arnprior

Members of the Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a serious and concerning report of a person who was believed to be in possession of a firearm at a local school in Arnprior.

OPP says they received information about this incident around 11:30 a.m. on September 26, 2023. Initial information stated that a person in the school had a gun.

Officers attended the school and began an extensive search. OPP says as a precautionary measure, officers searched all local schools to ensure that all students were safe in the area.

After the extensive searches, officers did not locate a firearm or suspicious activity.
