Singles darts at the Debert Legion on Thursday nights, be there by 6:45PM for registration. Team/league darts on Friday nights at 7:30PM. Always happy to have new players. -
A Walk in the Woods
You are invited to a fun and interesting walk in the woods, field and farm On Saturday, October 7, folks of all ages are invited to attend a special field day that will include touring an historic round barn, jumping in a helicopter, learning about small-scale forest management and forest bathing. The field day will go from 9am to 4pm, rain or shine, including the lunch and ceremonies between 11:30 and 1pm. The civic address is 3214 Highway 236, Old Barns. The special field day organized by the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources and Renewables to celebrate the fact that Beau and Laura Blois and family were recently selected as winners of the Nova Scotia Woodland Owner of the Year Award. Visitors will be treated to a wide variety of interesting exhibits and demonstrations to visit - in and around the round barn, in their field and in their forest. There is no cost for admission and a hearty lunch will be served for $10 each before special presentations during noon hour. Visitors will have the opportunity to ride along on a tractor-drawn wagon through the Blois field, near their black angus cattle, to the back end of the property. There they can sit in a DNRR helicopter where they can pretend they are a passenger, or even a pilot. -
Annual Pork Dinner
On Saturday, October 7 from 3PM-6PM at the Wentworth Recreation Centre (13752 Highway 4, Wentworth). Admission $17, Under 12 $8, Under 5 Free. Menu includes roast pork, gravy, mashed potatoes, fresh vegetables, roll, dessert and tea or coffee. Proceeds to the Recreation Centre. -
Non-Profit Community Fair
The Lotus Centre partnering with ElevateHER Mental Health Support Services are excited to bring you the Non-Profit Community Fair. This fair is a one day event on Tuesday, October 10 at the Best Western Glengarry at 1PM aimed at bringing together social service agencies and the community to become more knowledgeable and aware of the resources and services in the communities that target the Social Determinants of Health. Come see what your community has to offer for social service programs, recreational activities, wellness, informational resources, and more. Sign up for supports, workshops and events.
