• Weekly Thursday Bingo

    Weekly Thursday Bingo has returned to the Wentworth Recreation Centre. Doors open at 6pm, with a 7pm start. Provincial public health gathering rules apply, and extra sanitizing precautions are in place. Attendance will be limited to 50 participants, so arrive early so as not to be disappointed.

    Pantry Raffle. Colchester Ground Search and Rescue is having a pantry raffle during the month of October to raise funds for operations. Tickets go on sale Oct 1. They are $2/each or 3 for $5. The draw will be Oct 31. Tickets can be bought on our webpage ( or through any member.
  • Tri-Service Chase the Ace

    Tri-Service Chase the Ace. Tickets are $3/each, starting Jackpot for this week is $9730.70. Draw is every Thursday night at the Debert Legion, 1252 Masstown Road at 8:15pm. Tickets can be purchased from any member or at the Legion on draw night between 6-8pm. Attendance is not necessary.

    With cold weather coming many children in Colchester won’t have winter coats!! To ensure all children are warm this winter Big Dog, Pure Country and Wilson’s Heating presents “Coats for Kids”. This year the drop off is at Maggie’s Place, 1027 Prince Street. Please take any clean, new or gently used children’s outerwear to Maggie’s Place. Winter coats in sizes 0 through 8 ARE APPRECIATED but this year they especially need SMALL sizes.

  • Dalhousie University AC Campus Influenza Immunization Clinic

    Dalhousie University AC Campus is hosting a Influenza Immunization Clinic Monday, Oct 26-Friday, Nov 6 (week days 8;30 am -12 noon). They are opening the clinics to the adult community this year to assist is helping our larger community with access to a flu shot at the Langille Athletic Centre. All appointments must be pre booked/ no walk in appointments. Flu shots will be administered by registered nurses from Student Health Services. This is a free service. Please wear clothing that allows for ease of access to your upper arm. Remember for your safety you are required to stay (socially distanced) for 15 minutes after your flu shot. How to book: Phone 902-893-6672. No Walk In appointments available during these scheduled clinics. Covid-19 precautions People presenting for the flu shot will also be screened for COVID-19 symptoms or exposure and should stay home and reschedule their appointment if they don't feel well. Social distancing rules will apply inside the flu shot clinics, and masks will be required.

    Don't forget the Flea Market at Stellarton Legion Sundays FROM 9-1. Admission is $1 for adults Children free. They have something for everyone . Toys, clothes, tools, collectibles, crafts, baked goods Even a kitchen sink!! Always new tables weekly. They will be taking orders for their Legion Masks, Crosses and Wreathes will be available for purchase and pick up. To rent a table text or call 902-396-6063. They are still only $5 for an 8ft table. They are set up in a warm clean bright hall. They follow Covid precautions. Open for seller setup at 7:30.

    Drive thru Flu shot clinic on Sunday, November 1st from 9-12 and 1-4 at the Truro Farmers Market. Wear a short sleeved shirt, bring your health card. DO NOT EXIT YOUR VEHICLE.
  • Seafood Chowder Supper - Take out only

    A Seafood Chowder Supper will be held at the Toney River Community Hall, on Saturday, November 7th, beginning at 4pm.Take-out only. Please wear a mask and respect social distancing guidelines when picking up meal, which includes chowder, roll/biscuit, and apple crisp dessert for $12.
  • Colchester Food Bank Drive Thru Food Drive

    Colchester Food Bank Drive Thru Food Drive will be held on Thursday, November 19th from 9am to 5pm at the back parking lot of the Food Bank located off Dominion Street. They will be accepting: canned and non-perishable food items, personal care hygiene items, and monetary donations (sealed in envelopes with your address on the outside, so that your tax receipt can be mailed). How it works: Step 1: put together your donations of items and place in your trunk. Step 2: Drive to the back of the parking lot of the Food Bank (entering off Dominion Street). Enter the driveway clearly marked ENTER. Pull up to the Food Bank back door. You can either place your donation in the bin yourself or you can pop your trunk and a volunteer will do it for you, so you never have to leave your car. Step 3: Once your donation has been made, continue on through the parking lot using the side clearly marked EXIT. Continue on your day knowing you helped your neighbors in need this holiday season. It’s just that simple! Virtual Food Drive Assistance: If you would prefer to support the Food Bank without ever leaving home – you can do that too! Simply go to and make a monetary donation through the link. Tax receipts will be mailed directly to you.
