  • Goodtime Seniors' Dance Club Weekly dances

    The Goodtime Seniors' Dance Club have a dance every Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 10:30 at the Truro Legion on Brunswick Street. Admission is $7, shared lunch, 50/50 tickets. A band playing waltzes, fox trot, polka, jives, waltz quadrilles and country/modern singing. Come for a good social time. THE DANCES BEGIN ON SEPT. 10TH.
  • Royal Canadian Sea Cadets are Recruiting youth members

    Royal Canadian Sea Cadets are Recruiting youth members between the ages of 12-18 yrs of age. This is a youth program structured to teach time management, leadership, good citizenship with a military Naval structure. They meet at the Truro Armouries at 126 Willow Street on Tuesday evenings September through June each year. Start time is 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM.

    Lenten Chowder Lunches at the Immaculate Conception Church, 669 Prince Street, Truro starting Friday, February 28th and ending on Friday, April 3rd. The lunches are from 11:30am to 1pm. Corn Chowder - $8 or $10 for fish chowder. The meal includes roll, dessert, tea/coffee, children under 12 eat free. Take out available - pick up only. On Friday, April 10th - Good Friday from 4:30pm to 6pm - $10 meal includes fish pie, salad, roll, dessert, tea/coffee. All money raised goes to the Church.
  • Annual Dinner Theatre presentation of "The Haunting of the Cathedral"

    The Anglican Parish of Stewiacke and Shubenacadie are pleased to present our Annual Dinner Theatre presentation of "The Haunting of the Cathedral". Show dates are Friday, April 24th and Saturday, April 25th and Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd. Roast beef dinner with salad and a delicious dessert. Tickets are $25 each.     The Colchester Historeum is starting a new fundraiser - Chase the Ace! The first draw will be held at the Colchester Legion Stadium on Saturday, March 14th at 4pm. Doors will open at 2pm, and tickets will be sold on site from 2pm-4pm. Tickets are being sold for 3 for $5.00.     Bowl for Kids’ Sake is back! After five years Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colchester is bringing back this fun community event! They are thrilled to be bringing back Bowl for Kids’ Sake this year! This is a fun event that allows them to share what they do and celebrate mentorship in our community. Register a team with your friends, family or colleagues and celebrate what Big Brothers Big Sisters does in your community. Teams are made up of 4-5 people. There is no fee to register. Happening on Friday, March 27th at Ocean Lanes in Tatamagouche; Saturday, March 28th at Bible Hill Bowlacade. The Theme: The Champs are Here—dress up as your favorite athlete or team.     The Maritime Fiddlers Association Annual Spring Workshop will be held on Saturday, April 18th at Bible Hill Junior High School. Registration opens at 9:30 am. Classes start at 10:15 am. Courses will be offered in advanced fiddle, intermediate fiddle and beginner fiddle, as well as advanced piano, intermediate piano and beginner piano.
