Cell phones and SIM cards seized at Springhill Institution
A package containing unauthorized items was seized at Springhill Institution last Tuesday.
Correctional Service Canada (CSC) says staff confiscated items including five cell phones, five charging cords and two SIM cards on November 23rd.
The seizure was the third in eight days, after cell phones, charging chords and SIM cards were found in a package on November 15th, and drugs including crystal methamphetamine and cocaine were seized from a package on the perimeter of the facility the next day.
CSC says the seizures were a result of the vigilance of staff members, and it works with the police to take action against those who attempt to introduce unauthorized items into correctional institutions.
