Crime reduction initiative in Southwest Nova sees over 110 charges laid
A seven-week combined police operation has resulted in over 110 charges being laid against nearly 30 people in Lunenburg and Kings counties.
The RCMP met with police chiefs from Annapolis Royal, Bridgewater, and Kentville for the creation of a partnership between agencies to address street level criminal activity.
Between April 2nd and May 17th, the Southwest Nova Combined Crime Reduction Initiative conducted sixteen investigations which led to 29 people being charged.
Of the 113 charges laid, 47 were drug-related and 38 were firearms offences.
Police say they seized over $61,000 in drugs and 20 firearms, with over $3,000 in stolen property recovered.
The RCMP say these investigations and enforcement actions occurred in various parts of Lunenburg and Kings counties, including within the towns of Bridgewater and Kentville.
