Four Pictou County wildfires extinguished or under control: DNRR

The Department of Natural Resources and Renewables says four wildfires in Pictou County have either been extinguished or are under control.

A 1.5 hectare wildfire in Sunny Brae and a two hectare wildfire in McLellan’s Mountain are both under control, with DNRR staff patrolling for hotspots.

Fires on Gray Road and Union Centre, each half of a hectare in size, have both been extinguished.

Local volunteer firefighters also responded to the fires yesterday, with a helicopter brought in to help crews.
