Police warn public of residential construction site thefts


Halifax District RCMP is investigating multiple thefts from residential construction sites in Hammonds Plains.

A release states a secure enclosed trailer and multiple homes under construction were broken into on Voyageur Way on May 12th.

Police say a number of power tools were taken from the trailer, along with three pallets of flooring, and other various construction materials stored in the homes.

Investigators says a a chrome and red Belfor branded metal break tool was taken from a property under renovation on Hammonds Plains Road on Wednesday, despite being secured outside with a chain.

The RCMP says the cost of the missing items from the thefts on Voyageur Way is estimated to be over $20,000, while the tool stolen from the home on Hammonds Plains Road is valued at $3,600.
