Pride Flag destroyed in Mississippi Mills, police investigating

Lanark OPP are looking for suspects after the Pride Flag was stolen and destroyed in Mississippi Mills this week.

OPP discovered both the pole and the flag were stolen sometime overnight Wednesday from the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum on Rosamond Street East.

Police believe the theft happened sometime between 2 and 2:30 a.m. and are looking for an older-model blue car seen in the area at the time. Security video shows two young women in nearby Gemmill Park holding the flag, according to the OPP.

In a news release on Friday, police said 'it may seem like a prank, but theft and damage to property are crimes'

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Lanark OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Lanark County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
