Charges After Police Pursuit In Pembroke
One person is facing charges after a short police pursuit in a busy area of Pembroke on Wednesday.
The incident brought a police presence to the east end at around noon, where a vehicle was pulled over along Belmont Street, between Pembroke Street East and Nelson.
The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP tell us a 25 year old man from Whitewater Region has been charged with a Highway Traffic Act offense of driving while suspended, and a criminal code charge of flight from police.
The accused was released on a promise to appear for the criminal code charge and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on October 1.
A summons for the Highway Traffic Act charge was issued and the accused is scheduled to attend Provincial Offences Court in Pembroke on October 7, 2019 to answer to that charge.
The driver's vehicle was towed and impounded as a result of the incident.
