Downtown Pembroke Guitar Theft Suspect Arrested

Pembroke OPP

An arrest has been made and charges have been laid in a music store theft case that caused quite a stir in downtown Pembroke last month.

It was back on December 8th when an acoustic guitar was stolen from Bob’s Music, prompting some customers to follow the suspect until he brandished a weapon.

He had last been spotted near the waterfront area.

This past weekend, the suspect was located on foot in Pembroke, in the early hours of Sunday morning, and was arrested.

The OPP say 22-year-old Benjamin Dalton Leclaire of Pembroke has been charged with theft under 5 thousand dollars and assault with a weapon.

Leclaire had a court appearance scheduled for today in Pembroke.

Police sent out a release thanking everyone for their help with the investigation.

The stolen guitar was recovered.
