Election 2019: Another Local Candidate To Be Named
The list of local candidates for next month's federal election is taking shape.
On Thursday evening, the NDP will choose its candidate for the riding of Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke.
Nuclear Engineer Kurt Stoll of Deep River will be going up against teacher Eileen Jones-Whyte of Eganville for the nomination, in a contest to be held tonight in Cobden.
Meanwhile, incumbent Cheryl Gallant, who's represented the riding for 19 years, is the Conservative candidate.
Longtime Deep River resident Ruben Marini is representing the Liberal party.
Pembroke resident and Algonquin College professor Ian Pineau is the candidate for the Green Party.
Renfrew entrepreneur David Ainsworth is the People's Party of Canada candidate.
Petawawa businessman Dan Criger will be running as an independent candidate.
The official writ hasn't been dropped yet but the election is widely expected to be held on October 21st.
