FAMILY DISPUTE IN PEMBROKE LEADS TO CHARGES

The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a family dispute on Carmody Street in Pembroke early Sunday morning. The suspect made threats to police, damaged a family member's residence and refused to co-operate with police. OPP's Emergency Response Team and Tactics and Rescue Unit also responded. The multi-unit dwelling was evacuated for public safety reasons until the situation was resolved.
 
A 33-year-old Pembroke resident has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
 
• Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm - two counts
• Fail to comply with recognizance - two counts
• Fail to comply with probation
• Mischief over $5000
 
The name of the accused is being with withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
