Seven Stunt Driving Charges Laid in UOV OPP's Operation Impact


The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment OPP have wrapped up a four-day traffic safety initiative dubbed Operation Impact over the Thanksgiving long weekend.  Several charges were laid including 45 speeding charges, 19 hazardous moving violation charges, two distracted driving charges and 10 seatbelt charges. Seven drivers were also charged under the stunt driving legislation for speeding in excess of 50 km/h over the posted limit and had their driver's license suspended and vehicle impounded, both for a period of seven days.  There were no impaired driving charges laid during Operation Impact.
