Christopher Cross, Sara Bareilles Test Positive For COVID-19

Two more music artists are speaking out about testing positive for COVID-19.

Christopher Cross, a multiple Grammy winner who won an Oscar for the theme to 1981’s Arthur, shared his diagnosis on Friday

“This is possibly the worst illness I have ever had,” the 68-year-old wrote in a social media post, adding that he is being cared for at home.

Cross said people need to take the threat of COVID-19 seriously. “This is a deadly illness spreading like wildfire throughout the world,” he wrote. “PLEASE make every attempt to stall the spread of this virus.”

Cross is best known for “Sailing,” “Ride Like the Wind” and “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do)”

“Wherever you are in the world, let’s all be kind to one another,” Cross wrote. “Only if we work together can we defeat COVID-19.”

On Thursday, Sara Bareilles revealed she was diagnosed with COVID-19.

“I had it, just so you know,” she said in an Instagram Story. “I’m fully recovered, just so you know. And I am just thinking about all the people who are walkin’ through this really tricky time and sending a lot of love, and just being really grateful for every easy breath and every day that I get to be walkin’ around.”

The 40-year-old “Brave” singer added: “I’m just sort of taking all of this in and having a lot of feelings as I do.”

In recent days, the music world has lost Adam Schlesinger, Alan Merrill and Joe Diffie to complications from COVID-19.
