Tenille Townes was the big winner at this weekend’s Canadian Country Music Association Awards in Calgary.

The 25-year-old native of Grand Prairie, Alberta was named Female Artist of the Year and won both Single of the Year and Video of the Year for “Somebody’s Daughter.” The track also earned Townes, with Barry Dean and Luke Laird, the award for Songwriter of the Year.

Dallas Smith, who co-hosted the CCMAs with Billy Ray Cyrus, was named Male Artist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year. Brett Kissel, the 2017 and 2018 Male Artist of the Year, had to settle for Fans' Choice, an award he won in 2016.

The CCMA Award for Group or Duo of the Year went to Washboard Union for the second consecutive year.

Charlie Major and Anya Wilson were inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame and Paul Brandt was honoured as Humanitarian of the Year.

Brandt was among the performers during Sunday night’s broadcast – a list that also included acts like Meghan Patrick and Mitchell Tenpenny, High Valley, the Hunter Brothers, Lindsay Ell and The Reklaws.
