Driver of Transport Truck Arrested for Impaired Driving
After 4:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2019, Sudbury Police received a call regarding a possible impaired driver operating a commercial transport truck on our roads.
At 4:20 a.m., Officers located the truck at the loading/unloading dock of a local business on Notre Dame Avenue and identified the driver as a 55 year old man from Greater Sudbury. The Officers found two bottles of beer, one open and one sealed in the cab of the transport. While on scene, Officers used a roadside screening device and the man registered a fail. He was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters.
Once at Headquarters, a Breath Technician Officer used an Intoxilyzer on the man and he registered 140 and 120 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood leading to the man being charged with Impaired Operation.
The man’s name cannot be released at this time as the information has not yet been sworn to through the Court process.
Police thank the community member that called in to provide information leading to location and arrest of this individual who made the criminal choice to get behind the wheel while impaired placing our community at risk.
