Perth-Andover announces measures to support local businesses

news-update

Council of the Village of Perth-Andover has adopted a number of measures to support local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a press release, the village states that Mayor Marianne Bell and council "recognize the strain that the current coronavirus outbreak has placed on our business community and the impact of loss of employment to some of our residents."

During the three-month period back-dated to March 1st, all commercial general service customers including service clubs will receive a ten per cent discount on power bills and there will be no interest charges for bills issued during this time period.

The disconnect policy for general service customers will be changed from 90 days to 180 days.

Council also says any Light Commission customer who is laid off from work as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, will be able to apply to receive a ten per cent discount on power bills for a residential account in their name or the name of their significant other.

Applications for the three-month discount are available on the municipality's website.
