32nd annual Kinsmen Snowsuit Drive now underway

Snowsuit Drive

The 32nd annual Kinsmen Snowsuit Drive is now underway until early December.

The Kinsmen Club of Brockville and Family and Children’s Services of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville collects and distributes snowsuits during the annual campaign for those less fortunate in the area.

Organizer Al Peter said snowsuits can be placed in a plastic bag and placed in one of the many collection boxes throughout the region.

"We've got 14 locations around the City for drop-off," Peters said, adding the dropboxes had some slight changes because of COVID-19.

Gloves, scarves, mittens, hats, toques, boots and similar items in good condition are also being accepted, along with cash donations.

The program normally gives away about 500 snowsuits every year and this year's campaign runs through Saturday Dec. 5.

Families in need of snowsuits or other winter apparel can pick them up at the Pier Church at 806 Chelsea Court on Nov. 21, 28, or Dec. 5.
