COVID-19 assessment centres move to appointment-only
All COVID-19 assessment centres in Ontario have moved to appointment only models as the province tries to address a backlog of tests waiting to be processed.
The rotating test clinics in Renfrew County are no exception, with residents asked to call the Renfrew County Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre at 1-844-727-6404 to book an appointment.
Testing sites on Monday have so far been confirmed at Shady Nook Recreation Centre on Richardson Crescent in Laurentian Valley and at the municipal office in Horton on Castleford Drive. Both will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday.
Shady Nook Recreation Centre will host another clinic Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., while another will be open at 91 Meehan Street in Arnprior at the same time.
The province paused walk-in testing at centres so it can catch up on a backlog of roughly 79,000 untested swabs and testing is now also limited to those experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
The Renfrew County and District Health Unit asks any residents who have questions about testing to take their online self-assessment or call the Renfrew County Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre at 1-844-727-6404.
