Cyclist dead after being struck by tractor-trailer on Highway 7


A cyclist has died after being struck by a transport truck on Highway 7 west of Carleton Place. 

Police said the tractor-trailer struck the cyclist shortly before 10 a.m. on Sunday on Highway 7 between Ramsay Concession 5A and Townline Road West.

The cyclist was traveling westbound and towing a trailer when he was struck by the westbound truck, according to police. 

Keith Laing, 28, of Elizabethtown-Kitley Township, was taken to hospital by Lanark County Paramedics but later died of his injuries. 

Lanark County OPP said the investigation into the crash is ongoing but the Highway on Monday morning.
