Health Unit warns of COVID-19 exposure at Carleton Place daycare
The Leeds, Lanark and District Health Unit has warned of a possible COVID-19 exposure at a Carleton Place daycare.
All parents at the Francis Street Municipal Daycare Centre at 3 Francis Street have received a letter from the Health Unit that warns of a possible exposure of staff and children to the virus.
In a statement, Dr. Paula Stewart, Chief Medical Officer of Health for Leeds, Grenville and Lanark, said those affected are isolated at home and will be tested, while contact tracing is underway for others connected to the facility.
"I am very pleased with the infection control measures implemented in the Centre," she said.
"As a direct result of the safety measures in place since the reopening the risk to the rest of the Centre is considered low."
The Health Unit recommends everyone who went to the daycare on Monday, August 24th to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and immediately self-isolate and get tested if symptoms appear.
