Kingston adds 10 new COVID cases since Friday, one school case


Kingston added one new case of COVID-19 on Sunday, one of ten cases confirmed by Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington since Friday. 

Sunday's new case was found in a man in his 20's the Health Unit said was contracted through close contact of another infected person. All but two of the 10 cases confirmed since Friday have been through close contact while the two others remain under investigation.

The Limestone District School Board also recorded its first case of COVID-19 at Ecole Sir John A. MacDonald but the health unit data wasn't clear whether it was a staff member or student infected. The school remains open and the board said all affected members have been notified. 

As of Monday morning, Kingston had 27 active cases of the virus in the area with no patients in hospital. 

Ontario reported 566 cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, the seventh straight day over 500.
