Kingston man charged after dump truck stolen

Kingston Police 3

A 26-year-old man faces charges after a dump truck and other items were stolen from a compound in Kingston's north end.

Police said a man entered a locked and fenced-in compound just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday and was seen on security video trying to break into the building.

The man then entered a dump truck on the property and started it, according to police, before they drove through a locked fence and damaged it beyond repair and fled the scene. Two concrete saws were also stolen from the building.

Police said a suspect and the stolen dump truck were later found on Van Order Drive and the man was arrested at the scene.

The unnamed man has been charged with break and enter, mischief over $5000, theft under $5000 and two counts of breach of undertaking and breach of probation.
