Three new cases of COVID-19, 11 this week

Three new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the Tri-County area on Tuesday with 11 new cases so far this week.

Three other patients were also listed as recovered, meaning eight active cases in the area as of Wednesday morning, none of which are in hospital.

A grim milestone, the three new cases mark 400 cases in Leeds, Grenville and Lanark since the start of the pandemic. 52 people have died from the virus.

Holy Cross Catholic School remains in outbreak status after two cases were reported two weeks ago but most students were allowed to return to school on Tuesday. One class will continue to self-isolate for their 14 days isolation period which ends on Friday. It's the only outbreak at a school in the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit.

Ontario reported 548 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, the ninth straight day over 500 new cases with hotspots still in Toronto, Peel Region, Ottawa and York Region.
