Three students at two Renfrew County Schools test positive for COVID-19
Three students have tested positive for COVID-19 at two Renfrew County Schools.
The Renfrew and County District Health Unit said Monday one student had tested positive at Bishop Smith Catholic High School, while two students had tested positive at Valour JK-12 School in Petawawa.
"All students and staff who have been deemed to be a close contact of the positive cases, have been given direction to go home immediately to self-isolate and arrange for testing," the health unit said in a statement, adding that the schools remain open for in-class learning because the cases aren't believed to have been contracted or spread at the schools.
Total COVID-19 case numbers for Renfrew County are expected to be released Monday afternoon but the area had 15 active cases as of Monday morning with zero patients in hospital.
Ontario reported another 948 new cases Monday and seven more deaths, while performing just over 27,900 tests. That's down from 37,000 tests on Sunday.
Ontario also reported 977 new infections on Sunday, 1,015 cases on Saturday and 896 on Friday.
