Federal Election is Called
Justin Trudeau emerged from Rideau Hall Wednesday morning after visiting the Governor General and asking her to dissolve Parliament to begin the formal federal election campaign.
Voting day is now set for October 21st.
Trudeau will kick off the 40-day federal election campaign by attending a campaign event in Vancouver Wednesday night. Green party Leader Elizabeth May will also kick off the campaign in B-C with an event in Victoria.
Before the writ dropped, Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer was already targeting Trudeau again over the SNC-Lavalin affair. He is calling Trudeau a liar and argues the Liberal leader has lost the moral authority to govern.
A new poll suggests the Liberals and Conservatives are running neck-and-neck. Conservative support is at 35 per cent to the Liberals' 34. The N-D-P and Greens were tied at 11 per cent
The first forum for the election has been set for our riding. The Sustainable Environment Network Society has invited all the candidates to participate in the environmental discussion Thursday, September 26th, at 7pm at Schubert Centre.
