Fuel stop leads to discovery of break and enter into local business
While stopping for gas on patrol, a frontline officer noticed damage to the front door of the closed business. On further examination, it was learned that the business, in the 3300-block of 48th Avenue in Vernon, had been broken into. On Sunday, October 4th, at approximately 1:45 am, unknown suspects gained entry to the business through the front doors and removed the automated teller machine from the premises.
The suspects left the scene in a dark coloured Ford truck, with stolen license plates. The truck is possibly an F-350 with a unique decal in the rear window. A vehicle, stolen from a nearby business, was recovered at the scene.
