Largest Collection of Food

Vernon and area REALTORS will be going door-to-door collecting for their 42nd Annual Food Drive on Wednesday, December 4th starting at 5:00 p.m.

Residents of Vernon and Coldstream are being asked to donate non-perishable food items for the Salvation Army Food Bank. Their generous contributions will help stock the shelves well into the New Year. As we are all aware, the need is great.

Grocery bags with notes asking for a non-perishable food donation will be tied to door handles the day before so that residents can be prepared before the collection night.
Should homes be missed on December 6th, residents are asked to call any local real estate office and someone will be pleased to pick up their donation.

Single largest collection of food for the Salvation Army Food Bank and what is collected lasts until early summer.

The Salvation Army House of Hope has been an active contributor to Vernon's social fabric for over 25 years. More than 1100 people are being assisted through the Food Bank's programs each month. About 32% of those assisted are youth and children under the age of 18 years.
Non-perishable items are needed. For example:
Baby Formula
Boxed grains (rice, cereals, pastas)
Peanut Butter
School time snacks
Soups and pasta sauces
Canned beans and vegetables
