No Stone Left Alone

Poppy

Approximately 100 students will conduct a remembrance ceremony at Pleasant Valley Cemetery on Friday morning to honour and recognize the sacrifices of the Canadian military as well as Vernon and area Veterans.

It is part of the No Stone Left Alone Memorial Foundation. Students from Harwood and Mission Hill Elementary schools and W.L. Seaton Secondary will be in attendance, along with representatives from the BC Dragoons, Royal Canadian Legion and Veteran Larry Gilchrist.

They will be at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery on Pleasant Valley Road in Vernon from approximately 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.

The goal of the No Stone Left Alone Memorial Foundation is to educate students about Canada’s rich history of service to country and to remember our fallen by placing the Legion symbol of remembrance, the poppy, at each veteran’s headstone.
