North Okanagan Man in Vaping Lawsuit

An Armstrong man is one of two B-C men have filed a civil lawsuit against the vape brand Juul.

Jaycen Stephens, and Owen Mann-Campbell, who's from the lower mainland, say in the suit that they have health conditions that include pulmonary disease and they allege Juul Labs Canada is misleading consumers by implying vaping is safer than smoking.
The pair also say Juul marketed to minors.

The claims have not been proven in court and a Juul spokeswoman says the company has not been served with the suit so cannot comment.

Health Minister Adrian Dix says the province will be taking steps to address teen vaping.  He says a plan will be released in the coming weeks to deal with regulatory changes - including licences for vendors selling vaping products.
Health Canada has issued a warning to people who vape to monitor themselves for symptoms of pulmonary illness.
