Vernon RCMP investigate robbery at local bank
On March 18, 2020, just after 12:00 pm, Vernon North Okanagan RCMP front line officers responded to a report of a robbery having just taken place at the business located on 30th Ave, Vernon. A lone male entered the bank and produced a note demanding money. The suspect fled the area on foot with an un-disclosed amount of cash. A multi-unit response, including the assistance of the Vernon RCMP K9 unit and the General Investigative Section could be seen by witnesses as officers extensively searched the area for the suspect.
Although the officers were un-able to locate the suspect, a description of him was provided by witnesses, which will aid in our investigation, says RCMP Cst. Kelly Brett. We are glad to report that no one was injured as a result of this incident.
The suspect is described as: Caucasian male, wearing a blue ball cap and grey hooded sweatshirt.
