Quickies: Carly Rae Jepsen, Walk The Moon & Kelly Clarkson
CARLY RAE JEPSEN RELEASES NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR ‘WANT YOU IN MY ROOM’: Carly Rae Jepsen is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her date in the new music video for “Want You In My Room.” The colorful and dream-like clip features the singer dancing around her bedroom in her underwear. Jepsen later enters into an open green field where she dances with her bed sheets, walks on a beach, has a romantic dinner with her date and runs into everyday items around her house playing instruments. The music video was directed by Andrew Donoho and filmed at the Los Angeles County Arboretum. “Want You In My Room,” produced by Jack Antonoff, appeared on Jepsen’s fourth studio album Dedicated, which was released in May.
WALK THE MOON GUITARIST LEAVES UPCOMING SHOWS TO BE WITH EXPECTANT WIFE: WALK THE MOON guitarist Eli Maiman has dropped off the band’s upcoming trio of festival dates this month to be at home with his wife, who is pregnant with their son. “For those who don’t know, my beautiful wife Alex is 38 weeks pregnant,” Maiman tweeted. “We are in the home stretch, and, really, baby boy could show up at any time.” Maiman will be absent from the band’s shows at Las Vegas’ Life Is Beautiful, Sonoma, California’s, Sonoma Harvest and El Dorado, Arkansas’, El Dorado Music Fest. “As much as it bums me out to miss these, it would break my heart to miss the birth of my son, and I simply can’t risk it,” Maiman says. Guitarist Lucky West will be filling in for Maiman.
KELLY CLARKSON, MEGHAN TRAINOR RELIVE MICHELLE OBAMA PHOTOBOMB: Kelly Clarkson and Meghan Trainor relived the moment when they photobombed Michelle Obama in 2018. Clarkson and Trainor recalled on Thursday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show how they jumped in a photo with Obama during the former first lady’s visit to Today. Obama was celebrating International Day of the Girl in October 2018 when she posed for a selfie with model Karlie Kloss, actresses Zendaya and Frieda Pinto, and activist Monica Nyiraguhabwa. Clarkson and Trainor, who were also on stage, leapt in the background. “The best part is like ‘Where’s Waldo,’ find the two classiest people here. That’d be us in the back,” Clarkson said. “Everyone else was meant to be there and we were like, ‘Whatever, we’re crashing.’“ “Yeah, I yelled at you. I was like, ‘Get in! It’s our last chance,’” Trainor recalled. “She was about to leave, so that was it. You’re welcome.”
