Athletes to re-qualify for 41st Jeux de l'Acadie Finals

The Societe des Jeux de l'Acadie says athletes will have to re-qualify for the 41st edition of the annual sporting and cultural event.

Several athletes have already qualified for event before the Finals, scheduled to take place in Quispamsis and Saint John, were pushed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The society says the move is a result of extensive consultation and upon suggestion of both its Sports and Cultural Development  Committees.

Vice President of Sport Development Bruce Guitard says that while it was a difficult decision, it was made out of concern for younger athletes.
